Many of you have asked what Raindrop Therapy is, and some of you have already experienced and loved it! Raindrop Therapy is an Enhancement to any Massage. Young Living Essential Oil’s founder Gary Young pioneered this treatment. The Star Brows version is a little different, but the two proprietary essential oil blends, Aroma Siez and Valor, are from Young Living.
I have been using essential oils at home, and have offered this service for many years. When I first started using the oils, my staff and I underwent a rapid detoxification period for a couple of weeks. As the oils penetrate the system of the practitioner through the hands during application, we had to limit the number of treatments we did each day because good essential oils are natural medicines and are very powerful – we were “overdosing.”
The origins of the Raindrop Therapy technique are based on Lakota Native healing. Powerful antibacterial, antiviral oils are dropped along the spine and a sweeping motion is used to feather the oils upwards along the spine in imitation of the Northern Lights, which are revered for their healing energy (and seen really well in my homeland – Minnesota).
This treatment combines the science of aromatherapy with the techniques of reflexology and massage. The applications of essential oils are said to bring structural and electrical (energetic) alignment. The technique is designed to bring balance to the body, and the oils used are chosen for their unique anti-spasmodic effects.
Muscles and soft tissue are gently eased without using force or excessive pressure. When you combine the life-giving force of the natural medicine in the essential oil and the intelligence of the human body, an amazing healing process begins.
Nine Essential Oils of Raindrop Therapy

The Raindrop Massage Experience
Raindrop Massage treatment begins with the feet. Drops of essential oils are applied on the reflex points of both of your feet. It is common to feel a sensation of warmth after the essential oils are applied to your skin. By the end of the foot treatment, you will start to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. The therapeutic benefits of the essential oils will begin to take effect, and you will feel immersed in the pleasant fragrances of the essential oils.
Following the foot treatment, the Raindrop Massage technique is applied to the spine. The sensation of warmth, tingling, and relaxation becomes even more pronounced as the oils continue to be applied to the spine and massage begins.
The massage technique feels very gentle and involves easy strokes, taps or rolling movements that are designed to enhance absorption of the essential oils, and stimulate the reflex points. This promotes the release of toxins and supports healing and balance, and it also energizes the body.
A warm compress is applied to your back to complete your Raindrop Massage treatment. Any back pain or discomfort you were experiencing prior to the Raindrop Massage will dissipate during treatment, and you will feel refreshed and energized. One of the most unique benefits of the Raindrop Massage technique is the long-lasting effects it has on the body and mood. The general sense of well-being that results from each treatment lasts for several days.
See you at the new spa!
