J. Lohr Vineyards: Paso Robles, CA
“Barrel Tasting & Wine Tour” For Eight
(By appointment, available weekdays only – $400 value)
Our Vineyards focus on achieving the best possible flavors in our wines begins with careful stewardship of the land. We take this tenet to heart in the management of our 3,700 acres of estate vineyards, located predominantly along California’s acclaimed Central Coast. We choose vineyard sites for their microclimates, soil composition and suitability to nourish specific varietals, and strategically select clones and rootstocks for planting. We nurture and fine-tune each vineyard with diligent attention to irrigation, canopy management and cluster-thinning to achieve proper vine balance. J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has been named the “Tasting Panel Magazine Winery of the Year”, an honor we are extremely proud of and Winemaker, Jeff Meier, has been named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Winemakers in the U.S.! By employing best practices in viticulture, which have been tested and verified during Jeff Meier’s 28 years with J. Lohr, Jeff and Red Winemaker, Steve Peck, are able to maximize fruit flavors from each vineyard, resulting in balanced wines of extraordinary depth and varietal character.
Our three winegrowing regions—Paso Robles in San Luis Obispo County, Arroyo Seco and Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County, and St. Helena, located in the heart of Napa Valley—offer distinct attributes which influence the flavors in the wines from each of these appellations. In this section, we highlight the unique features of these regions.
