Practicing Being Present – An Easter Meditation

Sunrise-MeditationDo you sometimes find yourself suddenly in an unpleasant mood with no idea why? I do. My life is pretty darn amazing and yet right in the midst of it I’ll feel lonely, sad, fearful, angry…and sometimes I’ll swallow it down with something self -destructive like alcohol, junk food, cigarettes, or something else not-helpful. Other times I’ll acknowledge my feelings and make a healthy choice like getting a massage, walking the beach, juicing, or connecting with someone I love and practicing being present.

But despite the fact that my first-born just had her first-born (he is lovely and his name is Dekker) I’ve been oddly out-of-sorts. Well, this morning (Tuesday of Easter week) I listened to a message called Hosting the presence of God. It reminded me of the power of practicing being present, and how I am empowered by His very presence in and around me in every moment! This is my Easter meditation.
